Condition: wind is a little strong and a swell has formed.
Outlook: the perfect time to test the balance of our group!
We have with us some inflatable boards, wetsuits, lifejackets and paddles. After a brief explanation of what they all are (and to use them) we’re ready to see what our students are made of.
The point of this exercise is to improve the balance of the body against adverse weather. The conditions of wind and waves as they are mean it’s important to respect the rules of safety.
We start with lying down, kneeling and standing. Every student has their own knack on how to stay as long as possible on their board.
Of course, there are a few falls. But there’s also a few left standing.
The result? The small waves form an excellent playground. Those who manage to stay up get their first sensation of surfing and are hooked.
